  • What can an IBCLC help with?

    Painful latch and positioning. Nipple pain and damage. Milk supply. Infant weight loss or slow weight gain. Engorgement, clogged ducts, and mastitis . Pumping, flange sizing, bottle feeding. Going back to work and breastfeeding. Weaning. Oral restrictions (tongue and lip ties). And ANYTHING else that crosses your mind regarding lactation.

  • Is Lactation Consultant Services Covered by OHIP?

    Private lactation consultant services, in home or virtually, are not covered by OHIP. However, LC services may be covered under your extended health care benefits either as a specific service or through your health care spendings account. I will provide you with a receipt for submission to your insurance company.

  • Should I Book a Home or Virtual Consultation?

    This depends on your needs and/or feeding issue, and also your geographical location. Home consultations are optimal for help with issues that may need hands on support and assessment, such as oral restrictions and all other issue. A virtual consultation is beneficial if you live outside of the Niagara region, have questions that you would like to discuss with a lactation consultant, or as a follow up appointments. Feeding assessments can be done virtually.

  • What is Chestfeeding?

    It is my goal to provide inclusive care and support to all parents who are lactating. Some folks who are lactating and provide human milk for their baby may not identify with the terms mother and/or breastfeeding. In this case, feeding a baby from one’s body may be termed chestfeeding.

  • What is a Latch and Learn?

    Tender Loving Latch offers a community parenting group that gives parents the opportunity to meet others within their community to build supportive connections and friendships. During a Latch and Learn there is a ‘Ask an IBCLC’ period as well as time for open, honest, and judgment free discussion of ANYTHING lactation! Snacks are provided.

  • Will you Help Me Even if I'm Not Exclusively Breastfeeding/Chestfeeding?

    ABSOLUTELY! Every parent’s feeding journey is different and completely individual to them and their family. I will gladly support you in reaching your feeding goals, whether you are exclusively feeding directly from breast/chest, combo feeding, pumping exclusively or partially. I am here for you!
